Craving freedom from virus, U.S. heads into July 4 with sharply divided risk

More than half of Americans live in a county that has not met President Biden’s goal of 70 percent of adults receiving at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine by July 4, according to a Washington Post analysis. Those counties are seeing steeper increases in new cases compared with counties who have met the goal.
